• weCARE Invites Retired Educators to Stay Involved

The 2016 Celebrating ACSA’s Retired Educators (CARE) Conference was held at the La Quinta Resort & Club, June 21- 23, in La Quinta. The conference is an opportunity to honor all of ACSA’s retired members and those who will be retiring. Members of the CARE Conference Planning Committee, Maureen Burness, Gabe Escalera, Toni Hyland, Kathleen Lopes, Kathleen McCreery, Gayle Olson, and ACSA staff Sue Periera have carefully crafted sessions and networking opportunities that will be of benefit to all attendees. The planning committee offers conference goers time to network and reacquaint with colleagues at its first general session on Tuesday afternoon and then again at a reception in the evening. Conference will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning with selected activities, such as golf, cooking class, casino experience, and area shopping adventure. Beginning at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22, attendees will enjoy lunch and an entertaining presentation by keynote speaker Julie Adams, “Goodness Gracious, Great Brains on Fire!” Wednesday afternoon sessions will start at 2:00 p.m. with topics on travel, tips and tricks to using a Smartphone by Apple, and financial savvy for pre-retirees to name a few. Wednesday evening is an opportunity to dust off the party clothes for dinner, connecting with friends and enjoy a murder mystery play “Who Shot the Superintendent.”
